
ESPN EURO 2020
ESPN commissioned me to lead the creative direction for a global art campaign celebrating international football—creating bespoke poster artwork for all 24 nations competing in Euro 2020.
Challenge
Design 24 distinct pieces that captured each country’s identity, heritage, and football culture while staying cohesive as one unified collection. The work needed to translate across broadcast and digital, connecting national pride with ESPN’s energetic storytelling aesthetic.
Approach
Researched each country to identify cultural symbols, landmarks, patterns, and visual motifs that could anchor the design. Built layered compositions with key players and action moments in the foreground, supported by culturally inspired textures and details in the background. A unified hand-drawn typographic system tied the full set together alongside the tournament mark.
Work
Created official key art for all 24 teams and delivered custom posters tailored to each nation’s visual identity. Developed supporting assets for digital fan kits, promotional campaigns, and placements across ESPN platforms.
Results
The collection became a centerpiece of ESPN’s Euro 2020 storytelling—shared across broadcasts and digital channels and embraced by fans as collectible art that united sport, culture, and national pride.
